Today, we celebrate the 89th birthday of His Holiness the DALAI LAMA, Tenzin Gyatso, the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism. For decades, the DALAI LAMA has been a powerful voice for peace, non-violence, and compassion worldwide.

Born on July 6, 1935, the DALAI LAMA is not just a religious leader; He’s a Nobel Peace Prize laureate and a tireless advocate for human rights. His message of universal responsibility and understanding transcends cultures and religions.

His Holiness was recognized as the reincarnation of his predecessor at a young age. He assumed the full political leadership of Tibet at the age of 16 and has since become a symbol of Tibetan identity and the fight for autonomy of Tibet from Chinese occupation.
